Overview
Urban Elements Vol. 2 by sound artist Eric Norris (Ford v Ferrari, Spider-Man: Homecoming) delivers a fresh assortment of sonic ingredients you can mix and match to create lifelike city soundscapes. While captured in Downtown Los Angeles, the library is intentionally designed to feel authentic across a wide range of North American city settings. From everyday traffic and crowds to emergency sirens, helicopters, horn honks, dog barks, fireworks, and debris, this library captures the full spectrum of urban life in discrete actions designed for layering with ambiences.
Recordings range from short, isolated moments to ambiences lasting several minutes. Long sections of distant city fill recorded at night make ideal backgrounds with minimal activity and no birds. You can then customize your cityscapes with urban birds like house finches and sparrows, helicopter flybys, ambulance and fire truck sirens, distant motorcycle passes, and celebratory honking.
Rounding out the library is a plethora of shorter spot effects capturing isolated moments with natural background noise and reflections that don’t require additional “worldizing.” Vehicle sound effects include cars, trucks, buses, and motorcycles passing by, stopping at intersections, and honks. There’s also a sizeable selection of fireworks, plus crowd cheers, distant shouts, dog barks, and debris sounds. Mix and match these elements to build calm city nights, bustling rush hour traffic, raucous protests, and more.
